Topping out ceremony: new laboratory and pilot plant building

Together with the architects and the trades involved, shareholders and employees of Lehmann&Voss&Co. KG gathered in bright sunshine and summery temperatures on 18 April 2018 to celebrate the topping out ceremony of the new laboratory and pilot plant building at the Hamburg-Wandsbek location. The completion and occupation of the new premises is planned for the 1st quarter of 2019.

On 4 October 2017, the foundation stone was laid in Wandsbek for a new laboratory and pilot plant building, and the good progress made due to the precise planning and outstanding work of the site personnel made it possible to hold the topping out ceremony just under 3 weeks ahead of the original schedule.

In total, the long-established Hamburg-based company will be investing more than €4.5m in the building that has been designed as an innovation centre. “Since its foundation, Lehmann&Voss has paid great attention to maintaining a high level of expertise in its business units and to marketing products tailored to the individual customers”, explained Managing Partner Dr Thomas Oehmichen. “By constructing the new laboratory and pilot plant building, we are aiming to ensure that we can retain and continue expanding our leading position in the field of plastics (compounds, 3-D printing, masterbatches and composites) but also in raw materials for rubber as well as for paint and varnish.

The Wandsbek plant is the site for the very essential stage in the development of products that are then produced globally in the LEHVOSS Group plants in Wandsbek, Solingen, Kunshan (China) and Pawcatuck (USA).
